Pure Water Group supplies Ultrapure water (UPW) equipment for 200 MW green hydrogen plant in Rotterdam

Accelerating the energy transition together: Shell announced the final investment decision for project Holland Hydrogen 1, Europe’s largest green hydrogen plant.
The hydrogen plant with a Nucera 200 MW electrolyser will be realized on Maasvlakte 2 near the port of Rotterdam. Using renewable power from an offshore wind farm (Hollandse Kust Noord), the plant will produce up to 60.000 kilograms of renewable hydrogen per day. It will be used for heavy duty transport and in the refining industry. The plant will be fully operational in 2025.

Nucera (thyssenkrupp Uhde Chlorine Engineers) will supply 10 alkaline electrolysis modules of 20 MW each to the Holland Hydrogen 1 site and has selected Pure Water Group to provide the Ultrapure water (UPW) generation.
