Pure Water Group manufactured some dozens of EDI equipment this spring

Thanks to its global network, Pure Water Group has commenced constructing some two dozen Electro Deionization (EDI) systems for projects in Europe, the Middle East, Australia and South America.

Especially the manufacturing of customized EDI systems for the Australian Woodside Karantha Gas power plant are worth mentioning. The two 12,5 m3/h EDI systems operated by Woodside Energy Ltd are part of a life extension program on the existing site. An existing IX demineralization plant that used large volumes of hazardous, corrosive chemicals needed to be replaced. After an Enhanced Concept Definition Study, the EDI technology proved to be the best solution. Although the EDI skids are a proprietary item, manufactured to various European standards, these comply to Australian standards as well.

Another four EDI systems are destined for the construction of two single 127 MW combined cycle power plants in Luján and four simple cycle plants of 254 MW in Matheu, both in Argentina. The sites are owned by Duro Felguera, SA, who formed a consortium with Siemens Energy Inc. and Siemens, SA (Argentina).

Simultaneously, one higher capacity EDI skid of 100 m3/h together with a Membrane Degassing (MD) system to be implemented for the removal of CO2, is manufactured for a new client in Portugal.

For new combined cycle power plants in Gulf area a total of seven EDI skids are manufactured and shipped.

From one Austrian partner, Pure Water Group received an order for the delivery of two 20 m3/h EDI systems for a client in Estonia, to be delivered end of August. A month later, two EDI systems for the production of 61,5 m3/h product water each are required.

In the meantime, two smaller units need to be assembled and tested urgently and ready for delivery at the end of July, one for a client in England and one for Spain. A third unit has to be manufactured in a time span of maximum eight weeks to ensure just-in-time delivery to another site in Australia.

To pull together two dozen Electro Deionization systems in a short period of time requires an effective manufacturing schedule, along with supply chain efficiency to gather the materials and components in time. At Pure Water Group we welcome and appreciate the strong relationships with our OEM partners and international suppliers, which we believe is the key to success in these endeavors.
