Pure Water Group continues its cooperation with partner Bondalti Water
Pure Water Group has manufactured two 117 m3/h Continuous Electrodeionization (CEDI) systems for Ultrapure water production to be supplied to Bondalti Water, an Iberian company specialized in designing solutions and implementing projects and services in the Integrated Water Cycle. The CEDI systems will form part of the water treatment plant for a pulp and paper mill in Portugal and the Ultrapure water produced by the CEDI systems is intended to feed high-pressure boilers that produce steam for energy production in the pulp mill.
Continuous Electrodeionization was selected as a proven and sustainable technology for the production of Ultrapure water. Unlike traditional Ion Exchange technologies that require chemicals for regeneration, the CEDI process is continuously regenerated by means of the applied DC current. This is significant for remote locations as it removes the requirement for bringing bulk chemicals to site as well as the safety and environmental concerns associated with onsite handling and disposal of hazardous chemicals and chemical wastes.
This is not the first cooperation between Bondalti and Pure Water Group and Bondalti ‘s preference for partnering with Pure Water Group on this project was due to its unparalleled experience in designing and supporting high-capacity CEDI projects worldwide.
