Pure Water Group delivers CEDI system for Good Earth Green Hydrogen & Ammonia Project in Australia
Pure Water Group has designed and manufactured a Continuous Electrodeionization (CEDI) system for its Australian partner, MAK Water, for deployment in the Good Earth Green Hydrogen and Ammonia Project in New South Wales, Australia. The CEDI system will continuously produce Ultrapure water, a crucial feedstock for the electrolysers used in green hydrogen production, thereby supporting the project’s sustainability and decarbonisation objectives.
Serving as the final polishing step in MAK Water’s multi-stage water treatment system, which also includes ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis, the EDIpure Advanced CEDI system provides a continuous, chemical-free and reliable supply of Ultrapure water. This water is essential for maintaining the efficiency and longevity of the electrolysers, ensuring consistent green hydrogen production for subsequent conversion into green ammonia and other clean fuels.
“Partnering with Pure Water Group for the CEDI system, we are assured of a continuous, reliable and sustainable Ultrapure water supply to support Australia’s pioneering green hydrogen initiative,” said a spokesperson for MAK Water. “We are proud to contribute to sustainable agricultural solutions through advanced water purification technology.”
The Good Earth project integrates renewable energy, electrolysis, and ammonia synthesis to produce low-carbon fertiliser and clean fuels for agricultural use. Green hydrogen produced on-site will be converted into green ammonia, helping reduce reliance on fossil-fuel-based fertilisers and lowering CO₂ emissions across regional farming operations.
Through this collaboration, Pure Water Group and MAK Water demonstrate a shared commitment to delivering innovative and sustainable water purification solutions that advance the green hydrogen economy and support the development of sustainable agricultural solutions in Australia.
The Pure Water Group brings together over 25 years of applied knowledge and all-round experience with advanced and sustainable electrochemical separation solutions for pure and clean water production. The latest enhanced performance of the Evoqua modules continue the Pure Water Group tradition to pursue improvements and retain leadership in water purification technology.
